How to Host a Screening of the Documentary

We encourage you to invite your network, community or civic group to a special screening

of the documentary “Connecting Cultures: Cincinnati to Guatemala,” a film by Laure

Quinlivan. You host the screening and post-film discussion at the venue of your choice!

1. Find a theater, auditorium or other public space with a big screen that allows the

film to be seen well by the audience, with good quality speakers for the sound.

Any venue cost to be covered by the host organization.

2. Select potential dates and times that work for you and the venue, and propose

them to Filmmaker Laure Quinlivan to find a date and time that works for all.

3. Plan post film discussion. The best way to maximize the power of documentary

film is to discuss it, and the issues it raises, with a live audience!

4. Filmmaker Laure Quinlivan will provide the film on a flash drive and attend your screening and post-film discussion. If you’d like her to help arrange additional panelists let her know. This could be someone who appears in the film, or a crew member who helped shoot or edit the film.  There is no fee for the screening but an honorarium for the filmmaker is suggested.

5. A small honorarium or gift card for additional panelists is also appreciated.
